Message from Mrs Freeston - End of Week 9
As we near the end of yet another week living in our own bubbles of Isolation, I am sure that you are very much appreciating the warmer weather and the fact that you can now leave your homes to exercise more than once per day! I know that just the thought that I am 'allowed' to go out more than once, has given me a boost!
With this in mind it seems fitting that it is also 'Mental Health Awareness Week' this week. Many of us are struggling with not being able to see our family and friends as much as we would like to, and you may feel like you are struggling to maintain control when others around you seem to be losing theirs. An odd harsh word here and there, whether intended or not, seems so much bigger to us than it would have done prior to lockdown. We need to remember to give ourselves a break and in turn, make allowances for the emotions of others that may be caused through stress, sadness or an inability to cope at a particular moment.
As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, a '7 Day Kindness Challenge' has been issued (pictured above). I have been working on this myself this week and decided, along with my daughter, to bake several batches of cookies (found the secret recipe for Millie's cookies!), wrap them up beautifully, and deliver them secretly to others. Have a look at the short video about Kindness below:
The teachers at Silverhill have also come up with some 'Wellbeing' challenges for you to have a go at next week, these should arrive to you via Dojo. We would love to see some photos of you and your family completing some of these challenges, so please remember to Dojo us your pictures.
Take care of yourselves and each other and we look forward to seeing you very soon.
