Although, not officially part of the national curriculum, all schools&nbsp;in England must show how well they support children&#8217;s SMSC development.\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What does each aspect of SMSC include?\u200b<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Spiritual<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The opportunity to explore beliefs, experience and faiths, feelings and values; enjoy learning about oneself, others and the&nbsp;surrounding world; use imagination and creativity and reflect on experiences.\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u200bMoral<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The opportunity to learn what is right and wrong and respect the law; understand consequences; investigate moral and&nbsp;ethical issues and offer reasoned views.\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u200b<\/strong>Social<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The opportunity to use a range of social skills to participate in the local community and beyond; appreciate diverse&nbsp;viewpoints; participate, volunteer and cooperate; resolve conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cultural<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The opportunity to explore and appreciate cultural influences; appreciate the role of Britain&#8217;s parliamentary system;&nbsp;participate in cultural opportunities; understand, accept, respect and celebrate diversity.\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Silverhill curriculum extends our children beyond the academic and&nbsp;provides our children with a broader development. We ensure opportunities to&nbsp;enhance our children&#8217;s spiritual, moral, social and cultural are embedded in all&nbsp;our topics.\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We promote equality of opportunity and diversity effectively to ensure that all&nbsp;children regardless of their background, culture or faith are celebrated for who they are and feel their identity is important to Silverhill. Every child is a piece of the Silverhill Jigsaw \u2013 without one piece, it is not complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;Pupils&#8217; personal development is outstanding. Pupils learn about different cultures&nbsp;and faiths. They visit places of worship, such as mosques and gurdwaras. They are&nbsp;respectful of others&#8217; beliefs. Pupils discuss and debate current local and national&nbsp;issues. Pupils told us that they &#8216;feel valued at this school&#8217;. Pupils learn about the&nbsp;importance of supporting their community.
