Relationships education has been compulsory for pupils in primary education since September 2020 and the Department for Education strongly recommends this should also include age-appropriate Sex Education.&nbsp;Schools also have statutory responsibilities to safeguard their pupils (Keeping Children Safe in Education, DfE, 2019) and to uphold the Equality Act (2010). At Silverhill we have adopted the Jigsaw approach to the teaching and learning of RSHE through their PSHE&nbsp;(Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education) planned programme of learning which supports all of these requirements and has children&#8217;s wellbeing at its heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is PSHE education?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>PSHE Education is a planned programme\u00a0of learning through which children and young people acquire the knowledge, understanding and skills they need to successfully manage their lives \u2013 now and in the future.
