RSHE stands for relationships, sex and health education. Relationships education has been compulsory for pupils in primary education since September 2020 and the Department for Education strongly recommends this should also include age-appropriate Sex Education. Schools also have statutory responsibilities to safeguard their pupils (Keeping Children Safe in Education, DfE, 2019) and to uphold the Equality Act (2010). At Silverhill we have adopted the Jigsaw approach to the teaching and learning of RSHE through their PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education) planned programme of learning which supports all of these requirements and has children’s wellbeing at its heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
